FIFTY YEARS OF INSOMIA
And the benefits of case histories
In the case history to follow an elderly lady attended for insomnia. During the second session I used (Colin’s case history) with great effect. It went on to produce amazing success.
The lady in question whom I have named Elizabeth was eighty four years of age and had suffered with insomnia for the last fifty years; the first session went very well, Elizabeth thoroughly enjoyed her relaxation and had some memory recalls but nothing related directly to the insomnia, nevertheless a good positive therapy session.
When Elizabeth attended for her second session she appeared quite excited and looking forward to her session, when we were half way through this session I told Elizabeth that I was going to relate to her a case history about insomnia,
I then continued. Subconscious mind, in a moment I’m going to relate to you a case history that I conducted some time ago, when I do relate this case history to you would you then compare the cause of the symptom in the case history to the symptom that Elizabeth suffers, that is of course not being able to sleep for long periods of time, not being able to go into a deep sleep.
Subconscious mind, do you have a repressed memory that’s causing Elizabeth’s suffering of not being able to sleep, in a moment I will count to three and then click my fingers when I do could you then begin returning memories to the conscious mind that have similarities to the case history that follows, focus in now please subconscious mind preparing to return those repressed memories and releasing the emotions of those memories to relieve this awful symptom.
I then went ahead with (Colin’s case history,) after my presentation I then continued.
ONE – TWO – THREE – CLICK Go ahead and return those memories now please subconscious mind.
Elizabeth immediately recalled being in hospital eleven years earlier when she was seventy three years of age but there was nothing traumatic just a straight forward minor surgical operation.
I then encouraged her subconscious mind to add to that memory, to keep focusing in to other memories that it may have, memories that are similar to the memory that it had just returned.
I then continued subconscious mind I will again count to three and then click my fingers when I do keep adding to that memory please getting closer and closer to that causal memory.
ONE – TWO – THREE – CLICK
Elizabeth then recalled. I’m in hospital I’m thirty four years of age, I’m going to die, I will then leave my children without a mother, that’s just not fair on the children, all children should have a mother. I fear that if I go to sleep I will die, I will die in my sleep, and if I sleep I will not wake up. At that moment the abreactions from the right eye were now streaming down Elizabeth’s cheek.
The memories of the events that took place fifty years earlier that had been repressed for all that time. The fear of sleep had now been returned to the conscious mind and had been rendered as passive; with the many emotions released the catharsis had now begun. Total relief from her symptom was then achieved.
The reason this case history was chosen is to demonstrate the perfect memory of the subconscious mind no matter what age.
